Respond Promptly
Acknowledge messages quickly—even when the full answer takes longer.

In practice
Respond immediately to clients and colleagues if you can, and next business day at the slowest. Even if just to acknowledge them and set an expectation for follow-up, people will appreciate your prompt responses.
A short reply beats silence. “Got it—I'll have an answer by Thursday” protects trust while you do the real work.
Prompt responses are especially important when someone is blocked. You do not always have to solve the problem in the first message; you do have to show you saw it.
