Follow Up and Follow Through

When you promise something—or accept a task—close the loop without being chased.

In practice

Whenever you give anyone a promise, or a task is assigned to you, it's your responsibility to follow-up and hold yourself accountable for your tasks.

Follow-through is a kindness. It saves other people mental overhead and signals that their request mattered.

If you cannot finish on time, follow up anyway with a revised plan. Disappearing is the fastest way to lose trust.
