From Floor Conversations to Customers: Guided Selling, Showroom Apps, and Rapora

How Endertech’s custom showroom systems for large retailers shaped Rapora—a Shopify-native product for smaller multi-location chains that need guided selling, CRM, and Shopify POS. Live at rapora.shop; App Store listing pending.

The register was never designed to remember a conversation. The best associates still try.

On a busy Saturday the real sales system in a mattress or furniture store is not the terminal at the back wall. It is the back-and-forth on the floor: how someone sleeps, what the room has to do, what budget feels honest, which SKU is actually in the warehouse behind the sample. That work fails when tools force the associate to abandon the customer—walk to a desktop, re-key a cart, lose the thread, start over when the shopper returns online on Tuesday.

Endertech has spent years inside that mess. We build custom Sales Rep Apps and the platforms around them for retailers operating at serious scale—hundreds of locations, deep ops systems, workflows that will never fit a generic install. That experience is also why Rapora exists: a Shopify-native product aimed at smaller multi-location showrooms that need the same relationship loop without commissioning an enterprise build.

Two lanes. One craft: keep the conversation with the customer until the order is paid.

The floor breaks when software cannot walk with it

Consultative retail runs on attention, context, and trust. Immobile POS and bolted-on side tools tax all three.

Associates leave the guest to hunt inventory on a machine designed for cashiers. Preferences live in notebooks. A quote assembled on the floor does not survive the handoff to ecommerce. Managers ask how the weekend went and get tender reports that never saw the consult.

Shopify already does catalog, customers, and checkout well. What many showrooms still lack is the relationship layer—tablet browsing beside the product, memory that travels, follow-ups that resume cleanly, and a close that lands in Shopify POS or a sendable online checkout instead of a second commerce stack.

What large-scale custom work made obvious

Mattress Warehouse runs 300+ stores and a demanding catalog. We are proud of that partnership. Across multiple years we helped them ship a headless Shopify Hydrogen storefront, middleware that keeps online catalog and fulfillment honest with their ops system of record, and a purpose-built in-store Sales Rep App. Associates consult on tablets; the stack connects Shopify, Klaviyo, and their operational workflows—including specialized guided-selection experiences such as BedMatch.

That is enterprise territory: location count measured in hundreds, ERP-grade wiring, surfaces unique to the brand. Publicly, Mattress Warehouse has seen significant growth in online sales versus the prior ecommerce setup—substantially higher online sales on a foundation that can keep improving. Exact multiples stay off this page; the durable story is platform quality and a floor tool that matches how people actually sell.

Related custom showroom work for Sleep Outfitters—and guided-selling projects for another furniture retailer now underway—keeps teaching the same Monday-morning lessons. When you live in those programs, you stop romanticizing “apps” and start obsessing over whether an associate can stay present, whether context survives the night, and whether checkout is one motion or three.

Those lessons do not only belong inside multi-hundred-location programs. Plenty of strong retailers run a handful of stores—or a couple dozen—and still need the loop. That is the opening Rapora was built to fill.

Rapora: Shopify-native guided selling for mid-size chains

Rapora is Endertech’s product for Shopify-first showrooms whose footprint looks more like a handful to a couple dozen locations—the mid-market of multi-store retail—not a national enterprise custom program. Associates move through Guide → Remember → Continue → Close. Payment finishes in Shopify POS or Shopify’s online checkout. Setup, configuration, and rich reporting live inside Shopify Admin. On Sales Accelerator, CRM-style visits, deals, pipelines, and follow-ups are part of the product so “I’ll text you Monday” is not a sticky-note promise.

Rapora is deliberately Shopify-centric. It speaks Shopify POS. It does not ship with STORIS or other furniture-ERP connectors; that class of integration belongs in custom enterprise work when a retailer’s ops stack demands it. Familiar industry patterns—tablet UX, cart handoff into POS, Shopify as catalog and customer system of record—appear because modern Shopify retail converges there, not because every showroom tool is interchangeable.

Guide → Remember → Continue → Close

  1. Guide — Browse and present the catalog with the customer on the floor.
  2. Remember — Profiles sync with Shopify so the next associate is not starting cold.
  3. Continue — Quotes, shortlists, and (on Sales Accelerator) visits, deals, and tasks that pick up the thread.
  4. Close — Hand off into Shopify POS (including cart-fetch patterns) or a sendable online checkout.

Plans

Pricing is per location, with unlimited associates—stores constrain the rollout more often than seats:

  • Guided Selling — Floor browsing, customer capture, carts, POS transfer, sendable checkouts, invoice-style quotes, attribution, foundational reporting.
  • Sales Accelerator — The above plus visit/deal pipelines, shortlists, follow-up tasks, custom fields, and manager-ready CRM dashboards.

Current dollars live on rapora.shop so this article does not freeze an old price list.

Distribution, said plainly

Rapora is live at rapora.shop with trial and install from the site. Official Shopify App Store listing is still pending; we will not pretend otherwise. Operators have earned that honesty.

Picking a lane

If Shopify already centers your commerce, your store count sits in the mid-market band, and the missing piece is guided selling plus CRM with a clean POS close, start at rapora.shop.

If you are operating at enterprise scale—or the hard problem is ERP fidelity, catalog normalization across thousands of SKUs, and a tablet brain wired deep into ops—plan a custom RSA (often with middleware and headless storefront work). The Mattress Warehouse case study is the public proof of that depth.

Footprint and systems decide the lane. We help you choose without forcing every retailer through the same door.

Questions worth asking any showroom vendor

  • Who owns checkout—Shopify POS / online, or a parallel payments island?
  • Do customer profiles sync to Shopify, or invent a second book of record?
  • Do managers configure and report inside Shopify Admin, or elsewhere?
  • Is ERP integration in-product, a separate custom program, or out of scope for now?
  • Can an associate sell standing next to the product?
  • Can leadership attribute closes to associate and visit?

Monday-morning questions for owners

Can the associate stay with the guest? Does Tuesday’s follow-up still know Saturday’s conversation? Can the close happen on Shopify POS or a link without retyping the cart? Can multi-store managers see the loop without a spreadsheet archaeology project?

When those answers are yes, guided selling stops being a slide and starts being operations.

Keep the conversation until it becomes an order

We are proud of the custom showroom systems we have shipped for large retailers—Mattress Warehouse across 300+ stores, Sleep Outfitters, and peers who needed software as unique as their ops. That work sharpened our eye for what the floor actually requires. Rapora carries those requirements into a Shopify-native product for mid-size multi-location retailers: guided selling, CRM, and Shopify POS, so more teams can finish the conversation without waiting on an enterprise program.

  • Try Rapora at rapora.shop (Shopify App Store approval pending).
  • Read the Mattress Warehouse story at endertech.com/portfolio/mattress-warehouse.
  • If your scale or ops stack calls for a custom RSA, middleware, or headless Shopify, talk with Endertech—we work both lanes.

Tell us where the floor still drops the thread. We will help you pick the fit that keeps the customer in the conversation.
